RodentPro ensures the safety of its products by implementing rigorous quality control measures across its entire product line. RodentPro’s food safety program utilizes a combination of irradiation, testing, and other controls tailored to the specific risks associated with each product. Our food safety program is designed to address and control the presence of potentially harmful microorganisms, including Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). The use of irradiation to effectively eliminate and reduce pathogens, regular testing to monitor and verify the absence of harmful microorganisms, and additional controls tailored to the specific product to further ensure safety.

Food Irradiation: Significantly reducing the risk of HPAI presence

RodenPro has certain products irradiated to provide an added layer of protection, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality for our customers and their pets. This treatment has been shown to significantly reduce and remove pathogenic microorganisms that may naturally be present on or in the animals. It serves to protect both the animals that consume the products and the caregivers who may handle the animals prior to consumption. While these treatments are intended to reduce everyday bacterial pathogens known to be present naturally (e.g., Salmonella, Listeria and E. coli), this treatment is also effective at significantly reducing the risk associated with emerging infections, including (but not limited to) Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). Published studies investigating the effectiveness of irradiation treatments in reducing HPAI in a variety of matrices have indicated that the level of irradiation utilized by RodentPro is effective in significantly reducing the risk of viable HPAI presence.
