National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP)

All our chicken and quail products come from trusted contract suppliers certified under the National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP). This certification reflects the rigorous standards and protocols our contract suppliers follow to maintain high levels of biosecurity and disease prevention, including the testing of flocks on a regular basis for AI. Any positive AI test results, by federal mandate, are reported to the State’s Department of Agriculture and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Under USDA’s supervision, if a flock is affected, it is quickly quarantined, additional testing and surveillance is conducted, and infected flocks are depopulated. The premises, equipment, and vehicles are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. We are in regular contact with our contract suppliers and are closely monitoring testing as well as CDC and USDA data.

State Health Inspectors regularly inspect our contract suppliers to ensure a disease-free and clean environment. Chickens and quail are housed separately in large, indoor facilities secure from outside animals. Our contract suppliers take every precaution to prevent wild birds from entering their facilities through the use of barriers, limiting access to employees only, and regularly cleaning and sanitizing all equipment – which is monitored and inspected by USDA NPIP.
